MADE to be MUM is a unique community space in Kirkby designed especially for children aged 0-5 years.
We’re part café, part play space, and part support network, all rolled into one welcoming place where you can just be yourself. Whether you come to grab a coffee, let your little ones explore, meet other parents, or simply take a breather, you’ll always find understanding and connection here.
Little ones can move freely between different sections to spark their curiosity and imagination.
- Animal Zone: Meet friendly animal figures and learn about different creatures big and small.
- Baby Area: A safe, cosy spot just for babies to crawl, roll, and explore sensory toys.
- Dress-Up Corner: Costumes and props encourage imaginative play and role-playing adventures.
- Car Track: Perfect for children who love wheels—race cars, trucks, and diggers along the track.
- Ball Chute: A colourful, interactive ball chute where children can roll, catch, and chase balls.
No matter what your child loves, there’s a space here for them to play, grow, and make new friends.

MADE to be MUM is a play café with a social mission at its heart: to combat maternal social isolation. Here, no one has to pretend to have it all together. You can show up exactly as you are, tired, messy, overwhelmed, excited and find people who understand.
When you visit, you’ll find a warm space filled with opportunities to connect and take a breath. We offer:
- Stay and play sessions for children aged 0–5 years, with themed play areas and plenty to explore.
- Workshops covering every stage, from pregnancy and birth preparation to postpartum wellbeing and baby classes.
- Friendly staff and a relaxed café where you can grab a coffee and a bite to eat, meet other parents, and feel part of a real community.

Join us for coffee, conversation, and community-building in a relaxed atmosphere. We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9:30am until 3:30pm.
